WakeControl Support
Basic steps to install, activate, link with Amazon and troubleshoot the most common issues.
Important: Wake-on-LAN depends on hardware, BIOS/UEFI, Windows, network adapter and local network. Not all PCs can power on from full shutdown. Ethernet is recommended.
1. What is WakeControl?
WakeControl is a Tecnopro Solutions application that lets you control Windows PCs with Alexa. Shutdown is performed through the agent installed on the PC. Power-on uses Wake-on-LAN when the computer and network are compatible.
2. Requirements before installing
- Windows installed and updated.
- Internet connection.
- Amazon/Alexa account.
- Valid WakeControl license.
- For power-on: Wake-on-LAN support in motherboard, BIOS/UEFI and network adapter.
- Recommended: Ethernet connection.
3. How to install WakeControl
- Download the official installer.
- Run the installer as a Windows user.
- Allow installation of Agent, Activator and Tray.
- If Windows or antivirus asks, allow WakeControl to connect to the internet.
4. How to activate a license
- Open WakeControl Activator.
- Enter your license.
- Confirm activation.
- The PC will be associated with that license.
Each license allows up to 5 PCs. If you change PC or network adapter, support may need to release the previous device.
5. How to link with Amazon
- Open WakeControl on Windows.
- Click Vincular con Amazon.
- Sign in with your Amazon account.
- Accept the linking process.
- Return to the Alexa app and discover devices.
6. How to discover devices in Alexa
You can say:
- “Alexa, discover devices.”
- “Alexa, find devices.”
You can also do it from the Alexa app in the devices section.
7. How to use Alexa
- “Alexa, turn on Office PC.”
- “Alexa, turn off Office PC.”
- “Alexa, turn on Gaming PC.”
Use names that are easy to pronounce. Avoid unusual names, symbols or long phrases.

Wake-on-LAN in BIOS/UEFI
The exact name depends on the manufacturer. Look for options such as:
- Wake-on-LAN
- Power On By PCI-E
- Resume by LAN
- PCI-E Device Power On
- ErP Ready: disabled, if it blocks power while off
After enabling the option, save changes and shut down the PC for testing.
WiFi: on most computers, Wake-on-LAN over WiFi cannot be guaranteed. For real production use, use Ethernet.
