Install the Windows client
The Activator validates your license and the Agent keeps a secure connection with the WakeControl platform.
WakeControl connects your PC with Alexa through a Smart Home Skill, a Windows agent and Wake-on-LAN for compatible devices.
Wake-on-LAN depends on hardware, BIOS/UEFI, Windows, network adapter and local network. Ethernet is recommended.
WakeControl lets Alexa see your PC as a smart device. You can use voice commands to turn it on or off when the computer and network are correctly configured.
The Activator validates your license and the Agent keeps a secure connection with the WakeControl platform.
From the client, click Vincular con Amazon. Alexa will discover only the devices associated with your license.
Say: “Alexa, turn on my PC” or “Alexa, turn off my PC”, using the device name you configured.
WakeControl uses remote power-on features based on Wake-on-LAN. This technology depends on the computer, network adapter, BIOS/UEFI settings, Windows and the local network. Ethernet is recommended for best results.
Real limitation: power-on over WiFi is usually not guaranteed. On many computers, Wake-on-LAN works only over Ethernet and may vary by manufacturer, BIOS, drivers and power state.
Install the official client on the PC you want to control with Alexa. Then open the Activator, enter your license and click Vincular con Amazon.
Important: download WakeControl only from the official website. Remote power-on requires Wake-on-LAN compatibility and proper device configuration.
The process is designed so users can complete the basic setup without complex technical changes, except Wake-on-LAN settings when required.
Download and run the official WakeControl installer on the PC you want to control.
Enter the license you received. Each license allows up to 5 PCs.
Use a name that is easy for Alexa to understand.
Click Vincular con Amazon and authorize access through Amazon.
Say: “Alexa, discover devices” or use the Alexa app.
Try: “Alexa, turn on Office PC” and “Alexa, turn off Office PC”.
These are the most frequent cases and the quick explanation before contacting support.
The Agent is usually working, but Wake-on-LAN is not correctly configured. Check BIOS/UEFI, Windows, network driver, Ethernet cable and registered MAC address.
This may happen if the Agent is not connected, the license is not active, the PC is offline or Amazon linking needs to be repeated.
Check internet connection, firewall/antivirus, valid license and that the WakeControl API is not blocked by the network.
Only if the computer keeps power on the network adapter and supports Wake-on-LAN from that state. On some PCs it works from sleep/hibernation, but not from full shutdown.
Buy your digital license or contact Tecnopro Solutions if you need commercial support.
